Aleph Alpha is a German AI company with offices in Heidelberg, Berlin, Bayreuth and Munich. It presents its offer in four parts: specialised sovereign models, solutions, a platform and forward-deployed services1.
Best for: German public bodies and enterprises that want specialised “sovereign” language models and forward-deployed engineers from a German company.
Not the right fit for: Mid-sized companies that need published prices or a self-service start.
What Aleph Alpha offers on sovereignty
Its flagship model is Kolibri, which it describes as its specialised sovereign large language model for business-critical environments and its new sovereign model for the public sector, available through an API. The site shows case studies for a government agency, a global chip manufacturer and an automotive supplier, and logos including Bundesagentur für Arbeit, Deutsche Bank, Infineon and SAP1.
The home page we read does not describe deployment options such as on-premises or air-gapped operation, and it publishes no prices. Buyers who need those answers should request them before shortlisting.
