Cohere sells its Command, Embed and Rerank models and the North workspace with four deployment options. The private option runs on-premises or in an isolated virtual private cloud, which Cohere presents as "complete data sovereignty"⁠1Deployment optionsCohere.

Best for: Enterprises that want a vendor’s models and its North workspace deployed on-premises or in an isolated private cloud.

Not the right fit for: Companies that need EU hosting stated in writing on the vendor’s site, or published prices.

What Cohere offers on sovereignty

Beyond the private option, Model Vault offers dedicated, logically isolated and fully managed deployments for models and North; a public or hybrid cloud option combines private infrastructure with public cloud resources; and a SaaS option serves model deployments. Pricing is described by unit: per model instance for private deployments, per performance tier and instance range for Model Vault, and per token for SaaS⁠1Deployment optionsCohere.

The deployment page does not mention Europe, EU hosting or a commitment not to train on customer data, and no amounts are published.

Strengths and limits

Strengths
